Executive Director A. Nannette Taylor, President Janine Marr and Sonia James made a visit to West Plains to work on arrangements for the 2008 Audio Theatre Workshop. While Janine was quite at home in the fresh snow fall, it was a new experience for Sonia since her last snow walk was 30 years ago. Planning for the annual ATW takes working out many arrangements with the Civic Center, the college, hotel and other vendors that we count on each year. Have no fear, the snow will definetly be gone by the time the ATW gets under way. |

Silver Reel Award Winning Audio Drama from NATF
The National Audio Theatre Festivals, Inc. Live 2001 Performance is being unlinked
to the PRSS on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 1900 (EST) on channel A719. The
program is free to all stations.
This one-hour special highlights the best of NATF's 2001 live performance.
Featuring three original audio plays, NATF's 2001 performance, stars Simon
Jones (of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) in "Cold Shoulder", a surreal
love story about an audio book character and a couple stuck in a snow storm.
"Cronos Beach", written and directed by Atlanta Radio Theatre Company's Tom
Fuller is a modern myth for our time that deals with the aftermath of war.
From George Zarr of Sirius Satellite Radio comes "A Capitol Idea", a story
told in sound and with only the names of the capitols of the states.
Honored by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters this program won
top honors in their audio theatre category for 2001 (The Silver Reel). NATF's
live performance also won the "Crystal Award of Excellence" from the
Communicators Awards. This one-hour special gives your audience an
opportunity to hear audio drama at its best.
NATF is also pleased to note that Dalia Saldivar from Radio Bilingue, a 2001
Audio Theatre Workshop participant, was among those who received an
"Honorable Mention" from NFCB for her audio drama entry.
Produced as part of NATF's 2001 workshop week this live performance was
recorded on-site by Jane Pipik of WGBH-Boston and mixed on-site by NPR's
Renee Pringle. |
