News from home: Longtime NATF member and former board president Bill Oakley was injured in a vehicle accident yesterday (Aug. 27) in West Plains. Oakley was westbound crossing U.S. 63 bypass on Broadway when his vehicle was broadsided by another vehicle running a red light. He was trapped in the vehicle for a short time and was taken to Ozarks Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Other than cuts to his face and left arm from glass and feeling "beat up," Oakley said he is on the mend. His doctor commented that had the driver been going another 15 mph faster, the story might have had an entirely different ending.
Oakley had just left a meeting with area NATF members discussing the formation of a new locally based audio theater troupe in West Plains.
